Multi-disciplinary design review ITERATIONS supports discourse spanning the different areas of professional design, providing a platform for designers and researchers to engage with each other's work.
Current IDI Research
We collaborate with bodies researching the state of design. We are currently developing a White Paper on Irish Design, which should be available by 2020.
Salary Survey 2014/15
This was research undertaken by IDI at the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 revealing optimism on employment and salaries in the design sector. It showed confidence and that the 'in-house' sector is growing with 20% of respondents in 'In house' positions.
Salary Survey 2013/14
This survey from 2013/14 showed some growing optimism about employment prospects among designers. Amost half of all designers are self-employed. Paid overtime is not a key feature in design businesses, but other benefits are common. In 2013, some 43% or respondents earn in the range of 35k-64k per annum.
