ITERATIONS: Design Research and Practice Review
The IDI is proud to support ITERATIONS, a mixed-content, multi-disciplinary peer review in which designers and design researchers in Ireland and internationally document, reflect and present their processes. Issue 06 ( February 2018) with Ed. Marc O'Riain is now available to purchase.
Through ITERATIONS, the IDI supports our design research community by promoting reflection in practice.
With the first Irish Design Research and Practice Review, Iterations, we aim to engage and activate on design issues.
Design outcomes vary between different projects and fields. Yet the process of creative exploration and experimentation is universal. Iterations is a platform for designers and researchers to document and present their practices.
Full details on Iterations are available on the main ITERATIONS website including detail on how to submit an article for publishing.
Iternations inlcudes articles on Experience Design, a user centered study of older adults and ATMs, the importance of introspective conceptual design, 90 years of Philips Design, theories on how undergraduate designers learn, and much much more.
“These and other articles offer different, often contrasting, views on the shifting shapes of designers now and into the future…. I hope these articles start conversations, cultivate dissent and agreement, and provoke reactions of all types…”
Dr. Muireann McMahon.
