The shortlist of entries in 2018 were exhibited at IADT for one week in December,
IDI Irish Design Graduate Awards prizegiving was held on December 6th at IADT, who were wonderful hosts two years running. We had a really great spread of prize-winners from 12 colleges all over Ireland.The IDI Grand Prix trophy went to our overall 2018 winner Shauna Buckley, a graduate of IADT and a winner of prizes in four different categories.
The prizes were presented by IDI Director Danielle Townsend; Arup Engineer, Amber Kehoe; Cormac O'Conaire of Design Partners and Áine Higgins Ní Chinnéide of CEUD who managed the Universal Design judging. We were very grateful for help and support from Arup, Boxclever, Design Partners and CEUD over the year who all presented prizes on the night.
The event was managed by Dominic Southgate of Boxclever and IDI . It was hosted by run in asssociation with IADT with special thanks to Ger Fox, David Smith and Linda King of IADT for their input over a number of weeks -We acknowledge and appreciate the help from our sponsors and partners at CEUD, Boxclever, Arup and Design Partners for this wonderful graduate design competition. We are pleased and proud to collaborate with them on this unoque event in design in Ireland
The finalists chosen as part of our Graduate Design Awards 2018 exhibition at IADT represented a very wide range of design colleges across the country and the very best of student work in Ireland.

Arup is a worldwide consultancy and one of the largest engineering consulting firms in Ireland. They are associated with these awards for four years, and particularly with The Ove Arup Award for ‘Total Architecture’. This is an inclusive interdisciplinary graduate design award. It aims to demonstrate the spirit of Ove Arup’s approach to total architecture; which includes a consideration for all elements in an integrated holistic manner.
