IDI GRADUATE DESIGN AWARDS 2019
Congratulations to Alex Defratyka, Interior Architecture Graduate, CIT who is the 2019 Grand Prix winner at the IDI Graduate Design Awards for her project Hanover Quay Community Centre. The prize giving took place at Rathdown House and the finalists' exhibition runs at TU Dublin, Grangegoman on 14th November to 21st November 2019
We are grateful to all of our supporters and sponsors DES, CEUD, Boxclever, TU Dublin, DCCOI and Design Partners. A special thank you to Dominic Southgate of Boxclever who organised the event and sponsored the wonderful trophies, our host Barry Sheehan of TU Dublin, Aileen Dempsey of Design Enterprise Skillnet, Eugene Canavan of Design Partners and James Hubbard of CEUD who all spoke and presented some prizes. Our President, Róisín Lafferty, Founder and Managing Director of Kingston Lafferty Design presented all of the category winners and The Grand Prix 2019 trophy to Alex Defratyka.

IDI GRADUATE DESIGN AWARDS 2018
The ORIGINAL SHORTLIST of ENTRIES in 2018 WERE EXHIBITED at IADT for one week in December,
IDI Irish Design Graduate Awards prizegiving was held on December 6th at IADT, who were wonderful hosts two years running. We had a really great spread of prize-winners from 12 colleges all over Ireland.The IDI Grand Prix trophy went to our overall 2018 winner Shauna Buckley, a graduate of IADT and a winner of prizes in four different categories.
The prizes were presented by IDI Director Danielle Townsend; Arup Engineer, Amber Kehoe; Cormac O'Conaire of Design Partners and Áine Higgins Ní Chinnéide of CEUD who managed the Universal Design judging. We were very grateful for help and support from Arup, Boxclever, Design Partners and CEUD over the year who all presented prizes on the night.
The event was managed by Dominic Southgate of Boxclever and IDI . It was hosted by run in asssociation with IADT with special thanks to Ger Fox, David Smith and Linda King of IADT for their input over a number of weeks -We acknowledge and appreciate the help from our sponsors and partners at CEUD, Boxclever, Arup and Design Partners for this wonderful graduate design competition. We are pleased and proud to collaborate with them on this unoque event in design in Ireland
The finalists chosen as part of our Graduate Design Awards 2018 exhibition at IADT represented a very wide range of design colleges across the country and the very best of student work in Ireland.
The IDI Graduate Design Awards 2017
IDI Graduate Awards 2017 prize-giving event took place on the evening on Nov 30th at IADT.
And the winner is…Great night at the IDI Annual Graduate Design Awards 2017 hosted at IADT last Thursday 30th November.The exhibition included students from 16 different colleges From the selected 92 finalists, there were prizes in all categories and overall winners in most. This had been whittled down from 484 graduate entries. The exhibition runs until Wed evening 6th December. We are delighted to congratulate the talented designer Stina Standström of IADT who was chosen as the Grand Prix winner for 2017 for her impressive work, she was sortlisted, Commended and a category winner in a number of categories. Well deserved!

A really big thanks to all graduates who entered, to our judges and to our wonderful GDA 2017 hosts at IADT-Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. Thanks to our sponsors Boxclever who designed and supplied the sleek new awards trophies, to Arup who sponsored and presented the Ove Arup award won by Julie McGrath's project Oasis Home Shelter. This prize was presented by Amber Kehoe of Arup. Thanks too to our long term partners at CEUD, in particular Mr. James Hubbard who presented the Universal Design prize to Karl Martin for his project LiteFire, this prize was chosen from all of the entries as the best Universal Design project.Big thanks also to Holly Brennan who did splendid work on the exhibition's design.
The IDI Graduate Design Awards 2016
The IDI Graduate Design Award winners were announced at a ceremony on Thursday November 10th at NCAD, Dublin.The prizegiving was held at the NCAD Gallery on Nov 10th from 6pm - with a reception from 5pm. The Overall Grand Prix winner was Alessandra Ravida is a recent graduate of Dublin Institute of Design. Her college, DID was delighted with her success.
Sam Russell of NCAD presided over the event and George Boyle President of IDI made the presentations. Awards were made in a wide range of categories from Animation and Architecture to Viz Comm and Product and from to Fashion and Textiles to Universal Design and UX.
The exhibition of all the Shortlisted Finalists will run at the NCAD Gallery from 11th November every day for one week
