COMMERCIAL OBJECTIVE
Create a Christmas forest with traditional elements, that would fit into the constraints of the studio, allowing for both music, chat and demonstration of toys.
DESIGN OBJECTIVE
To bring an air of nostalgia to the studio, through the use of traditional Christmas lights and decorations, but adding elements that would draw the viewer in and create a space that viewers would want to explore further.
DESIGN THEME
Christmas trees, fairy lights, log cabins, tree houses, forests and the idea of the Boab tree as a place inside which a magical world could exist.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Kids of all ages, 18 to 80, big kids that feel nostalgic about the show, and young kids that want to see toys.
JURY COMMENTS
The jury found this production design to be quite brave in its use of light and multicolour. It creates an atmosphere of a children’s wonderland. It is very functional with depth and charm. It makes good television.
