COMMERCIAL OBJECTIVE
To create an annual report with a dual function, fulfilling Irish Aid’s statutory requirements while at the same time promoting one of their key initiatives in 2007.
DESIGN OBJECTIVE
Highlight Irish Aid’s Rapid Response initiative, giving first-person accounts from volunteers in the field. Present information in a style that is journalistic in tone, conveying urgency and action and presenting facts, figures and statistics in an accessible way.
DESIGN THEME
This report is heavily influenced by editorial design, from the glossy cover and well thought out typography, to the double-page case study portraits.
TARGET AUDIENCE
School goers (for educational purposes), NGOs (seeking funding), the media and the general public. Anyone with an interest what Irish Aid do and where they direct funds.
JURY COMMENTS
The jury liked that it has the layout and typography of a magazine with very simple pictures taken up close to the people rather than figures and facts.
