Reports to: Head of Marketing

The Role

  • Deliver high quality design services in-house from concept through to print and production.
  • Design of print adverts including the use of Quickcut (Quickprint / Pagestore).
  • Design of promotional material for events including invitations, literature, surveys and other company publications.
  • Liaise with external printers on deadlines and quality of material.
  • Maintenance of website via Contribute.

The Person

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a professional organisation.
  • Knowledge of full Creative Suite including Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark. Knowledge of Dreamweaver & MS Office would be an advantage.
  • A keen eye for detail with a creative flair.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent multi-tasking & communication skills.

Purpose and Scope of the Post
Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival is looking for an in-house designer to look after the design of
press ads, posters and marketing material over the Festival period.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Layout and design of Festival press ads for both web and print mediums, throughout entire period
  • Design of specific show posters
  • Design of additional marketing materials; invites, club membership cards; mini brochures etc
  • Other duties as required by the Marketing Manager

General

  • Implement and enforce environmental initiative of recycling
  • Awareness of health and safety issues within the work environment
  • At the conclusion of the Festival provide a written report as to how systems can be improved for the following year

Essential skills and experience

  • Qualification in design
  • Proficient in Quark or similar design package
  • Candidate must have own laptop with all design packages, burning software etc
  • Candidate must have some experience in web design

Salary
The salary for this post is commensurate with experience

Hours of Work
This post is full-time working 40 hours per week. Work outside these hours including evening and
weekend work may be required. No overtime or time in lieu is payable.

Probation
A probation period of one week will apply from the start of the contract.

Holidays
Holidays may not be taken within this contract. Holiday entitlement will be paid at the end of
contract in accordance with current employment legislation.

  • Liaise with proposal coordinators and the marketing department to ensure all request forms for design and print jobs are completed and all parties adhere to timetables.
  • Liaise with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a professional organisation.
  • Expert knowledge of InDesign; Photoshop; Illustrator; PowerPoint; and Word is essential.
  • Creativity and fresh contemporary thought is extremely important.
