Registered Designer
Any design practitioners and design educators working in Ireland can apply for admission to the Register of Designers. Becoming part of the Register is not exclusive to IDI members. This is for Applications as REGISTERED DESIGNER only- It is NOT the IDI Membership application.
This is for APPLICATIONS as REGISTERED DESIGNER and this is NOT the IDI membership application form.
In Ireland, a Registered Designer is one who has gained professional competencies through education, training and professional experience. The following form allows the applicant to enter these competencies and apply to the Register. The register will give a preliminary score at the end which is subject to verification.
- You must be a member of the IDI or another professional design body (eg. ICAD, RIAI) in Ireland before you apply.
- At the end of this process you will be awarded a number of points. To acheive Registered Designer you must achieve 25 points. To achieve Senior member of the IDI & Registered Designer you must achieve 60 points. To achieve Fellow of the IDI & Registered Designer you must achieve 85 points.
- Payment is required on submission of the form and it will not be processed without payment. The payment for registered designer is an annual payment and is ring fenced to support CPD.

1-Full-time Practicing Designer-Registered Designer in Ireland - €75 (Annual)
2-Education Member-Registered Designer in Ireland - €37.50 (Annual)
