WINNER OF THE DESIGN WEEK STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION ANNOUCED
The IDI is proud to announce the winner of the Design Week Student Design Competition as Robert J Boormann from IT Sligo. Entrants were asked to design a chair made only from two sheets of corrugated Cardboard.
The Judges, Architect and Designer Barry Sheehan and John Walsh of Design Company Made*, were extremely impressed with the overall quality of the entries, but it was Robert’s elegant but edgy IKE & MIKE that topped both judges lists, .
The runners up were Aleksandra Milne from NCAD for her organic creation ‘Aries’, Marta Slawinska of IT Sligo for her faceted ‘Edgy’ Chair, Vincent Naughton (Sligo) for his simple but elegant “Simplex” and Julia Schreckenback (NCAD) for her innovative ‘Wobbler’ chair.
Robert will be presented with a cheque for €100.
