DESIGN POP CORK 1-3rd September 2023
DESIGN POP - Cork’s celebration of design and architecture is back! 1-3rd September 2023, Nano Nagle Place, Cork.
This year, we are delighted to announce that IDI will be supporting the event as an official promotional partner for the design sector, and IDI member Dee Corcoran has been instrumental in curating a programme for designers and design enthusiasts alike.
With this year's theme of ‘Urban Regeneration’ and ‘Collaboration amongst the creative community’, attendees will be able to explore how creative communities can unlock the potential of the city.
Through a series of pop-up events, talks and exhibitions designers and architects from all over the country will be taking over the streets of the ‘rebel county’ from September 1st-3rd. Headquartered in Nano Nagle Place, which will host over 28 events, with other pavilions in Penrose Dock, Penrose Wharf and Nano Nagle Plaza hosting other events throughout the festival from making to marketing.
For 2023’s Design Popup Cork, Wilson Architecture have designed a temporary architectural pavilion to provide a place to gather, to talk and to reconnect.
Additionally, James Grennan has designed a temporary architectural pavilion to provide a beacon and meeting point in Nano Nagle Plaza, marking the location and headquarters of Design POP 2023.
Babelfís have created an immersive audio visual experience sited in the courtyard of Penrose Wharf, which will capture the essence of creativity in Cork City across many different disciplines, and the importance of a creative community for the city.
With industry leading speakers in the field of architecture and design, discussion panels and pop-up installations across the city, this 3 day celebration is definitely too good to miss!
