IDI Awarded Creative Climate Action Fund
The IDI is thrilled to have been awarded funding for a new climate action initiative, thanks to Creative Ireland’s Creative Climate Action Fund, in order to launch a new IDI initiative in partnership with 100 Archive: Design Declares.
Design Declares is a growing group of designers, design studios, agencies and institutions to declare a climate and ecological emergency. As part of the global declaration movement, we commit to harnessing the tools of the design industry to reimagine, rebuild and heal our world.
Designers are uniquely placed at the heart of industry and community to create meaningful change. Building on existing and valuable skillsets, designers are positioned to address global challenges at their roots, reshaping existing approaches in their own design practice to have lasting impact.
The project targets the design community through signing a declaration and supporting design practitioners to reduce emissions through the provision of toolkits and demonstrations on how design agencies can be a positive influence with their clients. In Ireland we aim to initiate conversations at regional and national level with the design community to ensure climate action stays top of mind.
IDI, together with the 100 Archive, is looking forward to bringing an exciting programme of work to life in support of Irish designers and their important role in protecting our planet.
