IDI Awarded Creative Communities Economic Action Fund

We are excited to announce that IDI will be working in a consortium project to network, engage and connect with businesses and support services throughout the regions of Ireland.
Thanks to the Creative Communities Economic Action Fund launched by Creative Ireland, this new initiative provides local authorities with resources to develop innovative projects which seek to leverage the potential of the creative industries in supporting local and regional economic development.
In partnership with the Sligo County Council and the Western Development Commission, IDI will lead the project engaging across the Connected Hubs and regional enterprise offices across the country with specific input from CREW, Ludgate Hub, An Chroi Sligo, Innovate Limerick and FutureCast Leitrim.
It comes as a direct response to the recommendation made in the Design Practice in Ireland report 2021, which identified a need for better engagement and communications initiatives, to demonstrate the value of the design industry to business and wider stakeholders.
IDI's Chief Executive Charlotte Barker said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden connections into regional businesses and business support agencies, as well as facilitating better understanding of the value of design in key regional economic growth sectors - mainly Construction, MedTech, AR/VR and Mobility.
If you are a designer in the regions and would like to get involved in supporting the project please register your details here.
