The IDI Awards are an important pillar of IDI’s remit as Ireland’s membership organisation for professional designers. Our goal is to represent designers at every stage of their career and to raise the professional standards of design. The Awards are the perfect opportunity to do just that, showcasing the best of the year’s design and providing inspiration for all. 

 

Massive congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted for an award, our panel of international and local judges are tough critics! But rightly so; IDI is proud to ensure standards of Irish design remain high and continue to climb higher, and we stand behind and alongside the design community to champion the best of the best.

 

From impactful photography to combat racism through to jewellery inspired by rats’ teeth; from Guinness micro draught innovation through to industry-changing educational programmes, the breadth of projects truly shows the impact of Irish design on business, culture and creativity.

 

The final award of the night – the coveted Grand Prix, which the category Chair judges determined represents the most memorable, disruptive and standout project of 2021 was presented to The B!G Idea.  

 

We want to extend a special thank you to David Stanley, Elena Stevant and John Connolly who have managed the Awards branding, website and social media respectively while also working full time in Red Dog. It’s a huge commitment and their can-do attitude is much appreciated.

 

Next year will be 50 years of IDI! We very much hope we will be back together in person by then, and we have lots of celebrations planned… if you’d like to get involved, please do reach out. We value the input of our members and welcome your involvement.
