Meet IDI Interior Designer members at the Ideal Home Show 2023 this Spring!
IDI is delighted to support its Interior Designer members at this year’s first edition of the Ideal Home Show, returning to the RDS this Spring (21st-23rd of April). Be sure to check out the ‘Ask the Expert’ stand hosted by IDI, the Fleetwood Interior Design Hub and the Interiors Theatre stage to meet Monica Daly, MD Designs; Emma Cooling, Cooling Design; Serena Kitt, Kitt Interiors Ltd; Linda McNally, Clontarf Interiors; Lana Dullaghan, Lana Dullaghan Design, Deirdre O'Connell, Dtale Interior Design and Jackie Carton, Carton Interiors.
Following a successful event in April and October 2022, IDI will once again host the highly popular ‘Ask an Expert’ event, where visitors to the Ideal Home Show, can book a one to one consultation with expert designers, free of charge.
Visitors who avail of a consultation are invited to make a charitable donation in lieu of professional fees. Donations will be made to Dublin Simon Community, who are committed to preventing and addressing homelessness.
Booking for each expert can be made at the PhoneWatch Ask An Expert Hub just inside the main entrance of the RDS Simmonscourt on a first come, first served basis.

Ask An Expert
Members of the IDI, RIAI, GLDA, IA and Energia will be available for 15 minute consultations over the weekend.
At the Spring event in last April (1st-23rd April 2023), 39% of the visitors indicated that ‘Expert Home Advice’ was their main reason to attend the show and over the 3 days of the event, Ask an Expert raised €2500 for charity.
Fleetwood Interior Design Hub
We're also delighted to announce that for the first time, two IDI interior designer members have been selected to take part in the Fleetwood Interior Design Hub, sponsored by Irish paint manufacturer Fleetwood.
The Fleetwood Interior Design Hub is about more than just paint – it’s about ideas, inspiration, and interior design helping you change your home into a stunning living space for your family and friends and which will delight every day of the year.
Monica Daly, MD Designs and Lana Dullaghan, Lana Dullaghan Designs, were chosen by Fleetwood Paints to create beautifully designed roomsets within this Hub.
The two top IDI member interior designers had the opportunity of designing and completing a 12 sq. metre fully fitted stand, a great opportunity to demonstrate the latest trends and inspiration for visitors to the show.
The roomsets are being promoted by Fleetwood and in The Irish Times, local and regional newspapers, Online and on the Radio. So keep an eye out for the rooms previews or scroll down for a snippet.
Talks
IDI members Lana Dullaghan will be discussing "Colour and Art for your Interior" with Lorraine Keane at 4:20pm on Friday while IDI member Jackie Carton will take the stage on on Sunday at 3:10pm discuss “The value of engaging a professional interior designer” on the DFS Interiors Theatre stage.

Lana Dullaghan, Lana Dullaghan Designs
Artist & Colour Expert
Lana Dullaghan is an Artist and Interior Designer with many years of experience.
Interior design, colour and art are Lana's passions and she believes that colour has a strong impact on wellbeing. Lana has successfully completed projects throughout Ireland, including Northern Ireland. Lana Dullaghan Designs has won several awards and Lana's work has been published in many interior design magazines and publications.

Linda McNally, Clontarf Interiors
Living in London for 10 years and travelling accross the globe with work, gave Linda a great insight to different interior concepts throughout the world.

Emma Cooling, Cooling Design
Emma Cooling is the director and principal interior designer of Cooling Design, which was founded in 2021.
Emma has had a lifelong love and passion for design. She studied interior architecture at DIT and Griffith College and has gained invaluable skills in all aspects of design with 20+ years’ experience. As a Senior Designer for over 6 years at one of Ireland’s largest interior design studios, she led and oversaw residential projects from concept to completion.
Emma’s attention to detailed, ergonomic design was well honed from her experience as a Kitchen Designer. Her commercial and space planning skills evolved whilst working in London with Ralph Lauren as Ireland’s Visual merchandiser. She enjoys working on creative, commercial projects whilst, as a mother of two, Emma has a unique understanding of the interior design requirements for a home.
Cooling Design are committed to producing unique, beautiful, dynamic interiors that are inspired by art, history, geography, and the architectural vernacular.

Deirdre O'Connell is a qualified and industry-trained interior designer, specialising in creating charming and individual homes.
A graduate of the IADI Dublin and Parsons NYC, Deirdre worked as a Senior Designer in two of Ireland’s foremost interiors companies, before starting the boutique residential design studio, Dtale.

Serena Kitt, Kitt Interiors Ltd
Serena Kitt is an accredited Interior Designer having trained with IDDA London and subsequently became a member of IDDA Ireland.
Serena has run the company for the past thirty years and the expertise of the company lies in excellent space planning and creating spaces that function, as well as being aesthetically beautiful.
Kitt Interiors has vast and varied experience in listening to the desires of their clients and exceeding their design expectations.

Jackie Carton, Carton Interiors
IDI member Jackie Carton is an Interior Design Architect from Carton Interiors, an international award winning design practice based in Rathfarnham. Her practice specialises in residential interior design. Jackie has many years experience in delivering full design schemes – from modern and colourful to classically elegant. With a background in art publishing and graphics, her love of art and colour is evident throughout her work and she believes that a well designed home should reflect its owners personality.
Jackie collaborates with a number of architects and building contractors to see each design through to completion. A regular contributor to interior magazines and newspaper articles, Jackie has also been invited to speak at shows such as House Event, the Ideal Home Show and the Self Build shows. She works with developers on showhouse fit outs and in 2017 took part in TV3’s Showhouse Showdown programme, winning across all four categories. Her work is featured on Houzz where she was awarded “Best of Houzz for both Design and Service” 2017-2021.
She is the President of the Interiors Association.
