Meet IDI Interior Designer members at the Ideal Home Show this weekend (21st-23rd of October). Members of the IDI, RIAI, GLDA, IA and Energia will be available for 15 minute consultations over the weekend. Visitors who avail of a consultation are invited to make a donation in lieu of professional fees. Donations will be made to Dublin Simon Community, who are committed to preventing and addressing homelessness.

Booking for each expert can be made at the PhoneWatch Ask An Expert Hub just inside the main entrance of the RDS Simmonscourt on a first come, first served basis.

At the Spring event in last April (1st-23rd April 2023), 39% of the visitors indicated that ‘Expert Home Advice’ was their main reason for attended the show and over the 3 days of the event, the visitors who availed for an expert’s advice consultation donated €2,436.25 for the worthy charity, Dublin Simon Community – preventing homelessness.

Jackie Carton of Carton Interiors will also be chatting with Lorraine Keane on Sunday afternoon about "Injecting designer style, room by room".

Meet the designers

Angela Connolly, Conbu Interior Design 

Angela Connolly founded Conbu Interior Design in 2008 and leads the studio as Creative Director. She is past President of the Interiors Association of Ireland (2014 to 2020), a member of the Institute of Designers in Ireland and the Irish Georgian Society.

As an avid traveler, Angela frequently incorporates inspiration from her travels into her designs. Working in the mid to high-end residential sector and commercial market, she works closely with architects, developers, and private clients. With business background in Corporate Relationship Management, she is an experienced project manager. Angela earned a Masters in Professional Design Practice with First Class Honours from TU Dublin in 2021. Her work has been featured in many Irish publications.

Monica Daly, MD Designs

Monica Daly has been designing interiors for residential and commercial spaces at MD Design for over 18 years. She creates bespoke designs for cabinetry and spatial planning. Each project is tailored to your likes, needs, and budget.

She guides her clients through the design process, from pre-construction to completion. MD Designs explores all the options available to you and will bring out the best in your home and workspace.

Deirdre O'Connell, Dtale Interior Design

 

Deirdre O'Connell is a qualified and industry-trained interior designer, specialising in creating charming and individual homes.

A graduate of the IADI Dublin and Parsons NYC, Deirdre worked as a Senior Designer in two of Ireland’s foremost interiors companies, before starting the boutique residential design studio, Dtale.

Lana Dullaghan, Lana Dullaghan Designs

Lana Dullaghan is an Artist and Interior Designer with years of experience.

Interior design, colour and art are Lana's passions and she believes that colour has a strong impact on wellbeing. Lana has successfully completed projects throughout Ireland, including Northern Ireland. Lana Dullaghan Designs has won several awards and Lana's work has been published in many interior design magazines and publications.

Jackie Carton, Carton Interiors

IDI member Jackie Carton is an Interior Design Architect from Carton Interiors, an international award winning design practice based in Rathfarnham. Her practice specialises in residential interior design. Jackie has many years experience in delivering full design schemes – from modern and colourful to classically elegant. With a background in art publishing and graphics, her love of art and colour is evident throughout her work and she believes that a well designed home should reflect its owners personality. 

Jackie collaborates with a number of architects and building contractors to see each design through to completion. A regular contributor to interior magazines and newspaper articles, Jackie has also been invited to speak at shows such as House Event, the Ideal Home Show and the Self Build shows. She works with developers on showhouse fit outs and in 2017 took part in TV3’s Showhouse Showdown programme, winning across all four categories. Her work is featured on Houzz where she was awarded “Best of Houzz for both Design and Service” 2017-2021. 

She is the President of the Interiors Association.
